Nick Jungman appointed ACES treasurer

May 7, 2018 – After the recent ACES board election and the 2018 national conference in Chicago, ACES' Board of Directors has made some necessary adjustments. On May 1, Nick Jungman, former contest chairman, was appointed treasurer, filling the seat Sara Ziegler vacated upon her election as president. Nick began serving as treasurer immediately.

Nick has been on the Board of Directors since 2015. He was treasurer of the Kansas professional chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists for more than a dozen years. He is the director of student media at the University of Oklahoma, which involves managing a $1 million annual budget. He has also been managing editor of the Wichita Business Journal and has taught at Wichita State University and the Missouri School of Journalism.

Two vacancies remain on the Board of Directors because of Nick’s ascension and Samantha Enslen's election to vice president. The Board of Directors has decided to leave the vacancies open for now as it considers the most effective board size to serve the ACES membership. The board plans to revisit the vacancies in September. Preliminarily, the board has approved a bylaw change that lowers the minimum possible size of the Board of Directors.
