ARE YOU THE BEST EDITOR YOU CAN BE? Take charge of your career, and take advantage of ACES’ professional training opportunities.
Here’s what we offer.
Since 1997, more than 5,600 participants have taken advantage of the educational and networking opportunities offered by ACES at our three-day national conferences. Topics cover various components of editing — grammar, style, word usage, sentence structure, readability, editing techniques, ethics, working with writers and publishers, working with the web and social media, working with numbers, and more — as well as career and leadership advice and advice on teaching editing.
The 2018 national conference will be at The Palmer House Hilton in downtown Chicago, April 26-28, 2018.
ACES has a new set of boot camps lined up for 2018 -- some full-day, some half-day, and some pairings of half-day boot camps that can be taken individually or both in the same day.
It begins with half-day sessions on March 7, Substantive Editing and Engaging Readers. Jill Geisler's Great Bosses Boot Camp is scheduled for April 25, the Wednesday before ACES' national conference. Two half-day Digital Boot Camps are scheduled for June and September.
Ethics in Analytics and Substantive Editing are two half-day sessions scheduled for Sept. 12. In-depth editing will be a daylong boot camp Sept. 26. Finally, Editing 101 for Marketing, PR and Corporate Comms, and Being an Elegant and Authoritative Editor are two half-day sessions on Nov. 9.
