Who can attend?

ACES VCON24 is the place for anyone who navigates the world of language and wishes to polish and refine their skills and and their work, and accelerate their careers.

From editors and publishers to communication experts and associations, ACES VCON24 gathers language aficionados and specialists from various backgrounds and from across the country and around the world. If you edit language, you belong here.

Why should I attend?

ACES VCON24 is designed to help editors identify, hone, and advance their editing skills, career goals, and personal aspirations.

Attend if you work with language and want to connect with editors, communication professionals, and language experts from around the globe who share a common goal: to improve the quality of the written word and the working lives of editors.

Send your employee if you want your internal and external workplace communications to reflect the latest information and thinking — both technical and philosophical — about language, style, and written communication.

What do I get as an attendee?

What you get as an attendee:

  • Entrance to two-and-a-half days of 35 virtual sessions led by about 60 presenters, along with the accompanying slide decks, handouts, and other materials.
  • Front-row seat to panel discussions and keynote address.
  • Access to Whova, the conference app, and all its networking capabilities, including direct access to presenters and conference sponsors.
  • The opportunity to register for field-specific meetups in Whova.
  • The ability to interact with the speaker during their presentation.
  • Presentations are live and recorded for future review. Attendees who wish to participate with the live chat and Q&A session must attend the session at its scheduled time.
  • Access to the session recordings and materials for 90 days after the close of the conference.
  • The opportunity for regional meet-ups hosted in the Whova conference app.
How many sessions are there?

ACES: The Society for Editing is proud to bring 35 sessions from expert presenters with endless experience and knowledge to share.

Additionally, ACES is offering over 20 live meet-ups to allow for small groups to exchange ideas and strategies about their work as editors. Read more about ACES VCON24 meet-ups.

Are there any discounts available?

ACES discounts

ACES members, students, and members of affiliate organizations can register at discounted conference rates. ACES membership must be current to receive the discount.

Memberships may be purchased at the time of registration to receive the member rate. See more on the ACES membership page.

ACES reserves the right to change prices before the conference. ACES has the final say on membership eligibility and prices.

Affiliated organizations

Members of the following organizations can register for ACES VCON24 at the member rate:

  • Editors Canada
  • Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA)
  • Journalism and Women Symposium (JAWS)
  • Society of News Design (SND)

Group discounts

Group discounts are offered for a group of 15 or more registrants from the same organization. All names must be provided at the time of registration and payment is due in full at the time of registration.

Will the sessions be available to view following the conference?

Attendees of ACES VCON24 will have access to session recordings, transcripts, slide decks, handouts, etc. for 90 days after the conference ends.

All sessions will be live and recorded for later viewing. Attendees who wish to participate with the live chat and Q&A session will need to attend the session at its scheduled time.

Can I just watch the session recordings?

Yes. All attendees will have access to session recordings and handouts for 90 days after the conference.

How can I register others to attend ACES VCON24?

Two buttons will be displayed at the bottom of the first registration page.

  • Register Yourself: Click this button to complete your registration.
  • Register Guest: Click this button to like to register a Nonmember. If you use this button, it will not link to another member's profile or receive the member rate.

If you a Corporate Member and are the Key Contact for your organization, a third button will be displayed at the bottom of the first registration page.

  • Register Linked Member: Click if you are the Key Contact for your organization and you would like to register an ACES member who would receive the member rate. If you are not the Key Contact, ask the member to log into their ACES account to register.
