Editorial & Administrative Assistant - Entry Level – Dragonfly Editorial

Location:

Dayton, Ohio

Description:

Dragonfly Editorial is a creative agency that helps companies around the world with copywriting, editing, and design.

We’re looking for a junior person interested in breaking into the editorial world, taking on the role of editorial assistant/administrative assistant. You would support Dragonfly’s president and senior leaders in managing the administrative operations of the Dragonfly family of businesses: Dragonfly Editorial, the Tippecanoe Gazette, Skyfall BnBs, and GE Writing.

This role is hybrid: part remote, part onsite at our office in Tipp City, Ohio, just north of Dayton. This could be a 20- to 40-hour position, depending on what works best for your lifestyle.

Work would be highly varied: everything from proofreading a weekly newspaper, to coordinating the work of plumbers and HVAC technicians at our BnBs, to publishing content to the Dragonfly and Gazette websites, to assisting with social media, to arranging conference sign-ups and book promotions for GE Writing.

The ideal candidate is:
* Interested in taking the first step in an editorial or publishing career
* Can work independently and balance multiple tasks
* Organizes work effectively so “nothing falls through the cracks"
* Embodies a flexible, professional, positive demeanor
* Is open to constructive feedback
* Is comfortable with a range of computer systems, from the Google and Microsoft suites to various web publishing platforms

Our benefits include working in a highly flexible environment where you’re valued as a person, where DEI is part of the fabric of our culture, where kindness is more important than cutting a deal, and respect is paramount.
