Description:

Editing is often equated with fixing what is wrong with a piece of writing. While I certainly edit for grammatical and punctuation errors, my cross-cultural background and extensive work with English language learners means that I view your voice as an asset to your writing. My goal in editing your work is to ensure that your voice heard, not recast it into something that it is not. I also bring my experience as a writing coach to my line editing work so that you benefit from my editing as a learning experience.

I specialize in academic genres, such as dissertations and theses or journal articles, but I also work with high-stakes documents, such as grants and university application materials. I am open to other writing projects too. I have worked with doctoral students in a number of professional fields (clinical psychology, physical therapy, and nursing) in addition to the humanities and social sciences.

I earned my PhD in Music (Ethnomusicology) from the University of California, Riverside in 2015, and I continue to publish my work. My own areas of expertise include South Asia, gender studies, ritual and lived religion, and ethnicity.
