I am a 15+ year veteran of the education, financial services, financial technology, insurance, investing, and legal industries. My extensive record of publications and corporate training work reflects my ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms and clarify why a particular topic is important for an end user to know. As an experienced project manager, I understand the importance of teamwork in setting goals, identifying the needs of decision makers, and producing deliverables on time, and within budget. I have firsthand knowledge of the business world, having worked as a trader, compliance risk manager, fiduciary expert, investment manager, educator, and digital content management start-up entrepreneur. In addition to my MFA in Creative & Professional Writing, I earned a PhD in finance, an MBA in finance, and an M.A. in Economics. I am a CFA charterholder and Certified Fraud Examiner. I am currently enrolled in the 2023 Beat Academy, sponsored by the Poynter Institute for Media Studies. I volunteer as the Publications Chair as an active member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors. I have edited using AP, Chicago, and MLA guidelines.
