I am a former teaching professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with a Ph.D. in Educational Studies/Cultural Studies and a Master's degree in Library Science and Information Studies. I have done freelance editing work since 2015. Having recently made the decision to leave academia and focus solely on my academic editing/writing/consulting services, I am especially inspired by a renewed passion for this work. I take a detailed, comprehensive approach to academic editing and would describe myself as a substantive editor, conducting a line-by-line analysis of the work at hand. While I work with a variety of academic materials, I have developed a specialization in working with qualitative dissertations across the social sciences and humanities. Ultimately, I have an affinity for working with words, making meaning of textual content, providing supportive feedback to writers, and building strong professional relationships. As an added bonus, I enjoy learning about various topics through my editing practice.
