As a published writer, editor and teacher, I'm here as another set of eyes AND ears. It's the ears, I've learned, that translate the words on a page, giving us context and imagery, furthering our world of ideas. I have an MA in Literature from McGill and an MA from McGill in Education.
Over the course of many years, I've helped academic scholars and authors of fiction, memoir and poetry polish their writing. My work is in substantive editing, copy editing and proofreading, which includes revision after translation. I'm an American-Canadian and have worked with authors and scholars whose first language is not English.
It takes a certain agility to move between languages and cultural idioms. As a published author, I know what the editing process entails and am very much looking forward to being a part of your journey.
