I am the copy editor for the Pennsylvania State Education Association which has 177,000 members. I edit the Voice magazine, electronic newsletters, press releases, speeches, videos, talking points, flyers, brochures and various other publications organization wide.
I read all documents to ensure correctness of grammar, conciseness, consistency, readability and style. I have a meticulous record ensuring publications are error-free prior to distribution statewide. I fact check and perform research to ensure that our messaging is consistent in all our publications.
I am interested in moving on to a freelance/contract or part-time position that does NOT offer benefits.
With 16 years of copy editing experience, I am an expert in AP style, have become familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style and adhere to and influence house style. A nitpick for grammar rules, I'm adaptable to a writer's voice and colloquial writing style.
