In Nov. 2020, I will have had 14 years' experience as an independent editor. My goal is to make a work the best it can be while still preserving the author's unique voice and vision. Skills include substantive, copy-, and line editing. Most publications I've edited have been scholarly books and journal articles, but I've some experience with fiction, memoir, and children’s literature. I'd like to transition into those fields. Whether I've edited nonfiction or fiction, I've enjoyed helping to tell untold stories. Let me help you tell yours!
I write nonfiction, short stories, memoir, children’s literature, and poetry.
I graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University with a B.A. in English (GPA 3.99). I am a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honors Society, and I received departmental honors by faculty selection.
I serve as membership director for Chicago Women in Publishing. I am also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, the Freelancers Union, and the Independent Association of Professional Writers & Editors.
