I am a copyeditor and proofreader with extensive in-house and freelance experience in academic publishing. I am especially interested in scholarly work in the humanities and social sciences, and I'd like to expand my work to include more fiction and creative nonfiction as well. I have a background in literary studies at the undergraduate and graduate level.
I've worked as an in-house editor for Cell Press, a leading publisher of life-sciences journals, and AVID, an education nonprofit that promotes college readiness. My freelance clients include the Modern Language Association and SUNY Press, for whom I've edited and proofread books, journal articles, and an online publication.
I am proficient in the Chicago Manual of Style, MLA style, and APA style and comfortable editing and proofreading in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, InCopy/InDesign, Canvas, and other digital platforms as well as on paper.
