For fifteen years, I have helped writers around the world better their manuscripts via my freelance editing business: Extra Ink Edits. I am particularly interested in manuscript critiques, showing writers what has been done especially well and what requires more work to make the piece shine. Query critiques, back cover blurbs, short stories, articles, and more, as well as full manuscripts for both fiction and nonfiction in a variety of styles, including academia, literary, and commercial, are some of the pieces I have worked on. Additionally, I hold a PhD in History, and I am an author myself, and so I understand both sides of the process. I am a Professional Member of the Irish Writers’ Centre, a Full Member of the Irish Writers’ Union, a member of the Historical Novel Society, a Full Member of ACES: The Society for Editing, a member of the American Historical Association, and a member of the Irish Association of Professional Historians. I have previously taught an intensive college writing course in the UNESCO literature city of Dublin, Ireland. I am a dual American and Irish citizen, experienced with helping writers on both sides of the Atlantic.
