For nearly 30 years, my focus has been on clarity and accuracy with the reader in mind. I have edited early-childhood education lessons, requests for proposals for a large financial-services firm, crisis communications, scholarly articles, four successful college accreditation self-studies, and thousands of newspaper stories. I researched and wrote a history of the College of Pharmacy at Ohio State University. I teach copy editing, and I present frequently on editing and freelancing. I post daily editing tips on Twitter as EditorMark. In 2012, I became the first freelancer elected to the national board of ACES: The Society for Editing. In 2017, I managed the successful St. Pete national conference of ACES.
