KMH Editing provides freelance and contract book editing services for publishers and writers, drawing on a decade of in-house experience. I deliver meticulous, on-deadline developmental, substantive, and copy editing, as well as coaching and project management, for book-length works. My clients include traditional publishers, self-publishers, and corporate and individual authors. While I edit on many topics and at many levels, I have concentrated experience in picture books, children's nonfiction, YA fiction, science fiction and fantasy, thrillers, creative nonfiction, social and cultural history, LGBTQIA+ interest, and memoir. I specialize in identifying the weaknesses in a manuscript that are hard to articulate, much less address, and helping writers tackle them with confidence.
