I'm Jake, and I want you to know that making books is not magic. It's a craft, a form of "soul-craft"— the art of shaping and giving form to ideas.
I've been a publisher for over a decade, bringing a thousand editions to life in print, eBook, and audio formats. Along the way, I've learned some things about publishing and myself. One is that I love working with authors. Unlike most humans, authors have something to say—which is a rare thing in a consumption-oriented world. But ideas are just ideas until they are manifest, and that's where the magic comes in. Suddenly, your ideas can flow into the minds of countless others, sometimes changing them forever.
My interests are broad, so collaborating with authors from varied fields always excites me. I have a degree in comparative religion and philosophy (east and west), and a master's degree with 20 years of experience in the practice of Chinese medicine. I have managed a book warehouse and the promotion and sale of 25,000 titles on Amazon. I know how books sell and what it takes to make them successful.
