I have been a freelance editor, indexer, proofreader, translator (German/English), and sometime writer since 1985. I have worked on a wide variety of topics, from law to literature, from horse racing to horticulture, from the US Civil War to children's books, for publishers in the US and abroad. I am organized and disciplined, get projects done on time or ahead of time, have no problem querying the press for which I'm working about anything in a manuscript that puzzles or concerns me. I am fluent in German, have excellent reading knowledge of Dutch, am currently studying Spanish, and have some knowledge of Russian and French. I hold a JD, an MS in Ed. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, an MA in German Literature and Linguistics, and a BA in English and German (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, honors in German).
