Have you ever heard of a 10-year-old girl reading the dictionary just for fun? Well, that was me! My fascination with all things word-related goes beyond some OCD need for grammatical perfection; I love words as well as helping others use them well.
Since 2018, I have edited and typeset non-fiction, instructional material as part of my full-time job, but even before then my friends and family often sought my grammar and punctuation advice. My experience ranges from ghostwriting emails and forms for my Office Manager to being a co-editor of four Christian doctrinal books, from drafting minutes for 501(c)3 organizations to helping friends edit their college homework assignments, and more. I have also worked as a managing editor and typesetter for Petra Press Publishing.
I am both familiar and comfortable working with InDesign, Word, and CMOS, and am moderately familiar with MLA. I am also fluent in Spanish and proficient in French, which allows me a unique perspective on how important accurate communication is.
While language indeed is a science (linguistics, philology, etymology, etc.), it is also an art that allows you to show off your style, creativity, and personality. Let’s create something beautiful together.
