Before transitioning to freelance editing, I took creative writing classes, gained experience with editing and writing in multiple fields – including journalism, academic, technical, and fiction – tutored in WCU's Writing and Learning Commons, and received my Master's degree in English.
I specialize in fantasy and science fiction but also have experience in academic editing for graduate and Ph.D students. If your project falls outside of those genres, I would still love to hear about it. I work with CMOS and Microsoft word for books and APA for academic writing.
As a book editor, I prioritize you and your book’s success. My previous experience and continued learning hones my copy editing and proofreading skills. I refuse to suggest any changes that limit your book or your unique writing voice solely on the basis of grammar "rules." Editors wear many hats, and I believe a role as your cheerleader to be one of them.
