With more than 30 years’ experience as an award-winning editor for national publications, I am fully committed to helping writers turn good work into great work. I always do comprehensive editing — development editing, line editing, copyediting and proofreading — for a very reasonable cost per word.
I received my MFA from Columbia University, where I was a Graduate Fellow and Fiction Editor of Columbia Journal. Stories I selected and edited were published in The Pushcart Prize and The Best Short Stories anthologies. My own fiction was represented by the Watkins/Loomis Agency.
After a career as a magazine editor with Time Inc. (Sports Illustrated and Fortune Magazine) and Reed Elsevier (Managing Editor of Grid, a national urban planning and design magazine) in Manhattan, I recently moved to Richmond and founded Richmond Editorial Service.
Having written scores of short stories, two novels and a screenplay, I also understand the editorial process from a writer’s perspective and am keenly aware of the joys and frustrations of the writing life.
