I am a writer, editor, and proofreader with seven years of experience writing for pediatric health care organizations. I also have extensive experience in donor-centered writing. While these are my areas of specialty, I have also written in a number of other fields, including academia, arts/entertainment, and business. I have expertise in AP Style, strong knowledge of MLA and APA, and fundamental knowledge of Chicago. I also have extensive experience in writing about a number of sensitive topics, including pediatric supportive/palliative care, bereavement, mental and behavioral health, substance use, and addiction. I am always willing to lend my knowledge as a sensitivity editor on these topics.
Proofreading is my absolute favorite skill to exercise. I would proofread for grammatical perfection all day, every day if I could. With that said, I am far from a stickler. I enjoy the process of learning about a client's audience and using that knowledge to inform how rigid or casual we can be with language. My personal philosophy is this: It's all about the reader.
