Adept at helping writers convey their messages more precisely and idiomatically, I have been copyediting and proofreading in English (American and Canadian), Spanish, and German since 1989. My B.A. in German Studies with a specialization in language and linguistics was earned at Stanford University. Familiar with Swedish, Portuguese, Italian, and Japanese. I also hold an M.S. in Technical Communication from University of Washington.
My specialties include travel, art, textbooks, management articles, and translation editing, following Chicago, APA, MLA, or your house style. I gladly work with clients whose first language is not English. I have shepherded the award-winning Yellowstone Treasures guidebook in its journey from first draft through five editions.
In my spare time I enjoy music, hiking, cooking, reading, flying, and keeping up with aviation safety issues. I seldom get the chance to edit in those fields, but I would love to!
