After ten years in the mental health field as a therapist, I decided to switch careers to copyediting. I've always loved reading and writing, so making this move felt very natural and has benefited my own mental health in numerous ways. My experience with reading, writing, internships, volunteering, and freelancing makes me uniquely qualified to help with a variety of projects. My passions are poetry and mental health nonfiction, but I also love working on other manuscripts for publication for a wide audience of readers. In 2023, I completed UC San Diego's copyediting certification program. I also completed a remote internship with Autumn House Press in 2023, assisting in a variety of ways behind the scenes from acquisitions editing to submitting final proofs for publication. I have been working as a freelance editor since January 2021 and have not looked back; it's truly a joy to do this work and help get out amazing stories and information. The written word is healing and powerful!
