Academic writing, Humanities and Social Sciences
I edited colleagues' work for years while I was in academia, both while earning my PhD in Chinese cultural history and after. Now it is my full-time business. While at the University of Chicago, I trained to teach rhetoric and composition, and I taught writing to all levels of collegiate and graduate writers, including non-native speakers. I've since edited work in multiple academic genres: grant writing for the humanities, professional statements, journal articles, dissertations, book manuscripts, and more. I currently contract with Navigator Education as an editor for aspiring students and professionals, and I am also available to hire independently.
I have general subject matter expertise broadly in the humanities and social sciences, as well as business. My specific areas of expertise include Chinese literature, theater and film. I am fluent in Chinese/Classical Chinese, and am also available for translation help and editing. I believe that editing should be available to all and offer a sliding scale for my services based on demonstrated need.
