I am new to copyediting, but my interests are true crime, psychology, self-help, and personal growth.
Hello! I am venturing into the world of copyediting after completing the professional certificate in copyediting from the UCSD Extended Studies Program in 2022. Although I'm new to this field, I have many years of editing and writing experience in a variety of disciplines. I have an MS from Murray State University, where I trained to become a speech therapist for seven years. Prior to that, I attained a BA in theatre from Florida State University. I have also taken courses in other fields, including business. So I have a well-rounded educational background.
Similarly, my diverse work experience has ranged from retail work to healthcare to educational settings. I feel I bring a lot to any "work table" based on my rich and varied life experiences.
Right now, I'm working towards opening my own freelance copyediting business, but I prefer to begin learning at an actual B&M business where I have people nearby who I can learn from hands-on.
