Lorien Mattiacci is an educator, a communications professional and a digital project manager, but she’s never happier than when she’s doing all three simultaneously. ACES has provided that opportunity by inviting her to be the volunteer student newsroom coordinator. Her ACES journey began in 2016 when she met Mark Allen and Gerri Berendzen. Lorien admired them immediately, and when she attended her first ACES conference, she knew she had found her people. Now, for a few months each year, she gets to plan the newsroom project, recruit and work with students, and produce media about the English language.
