Bill Swanson is an ink-stained wretch (imagine, if you dare, the love child of Lou Grant and Wilford Brimley), professional writer, editor, and has spent the past 16 years as chief copy editor for the behavioral Division of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He is happily married with five children, 11 grandchildren, and spent 17 years as a baseball and softball umpire. He has written two style manuals and is in the process of writing a series of four historical (1915 to 1929) thrillers. Fun fact: Bill once sat next to James Michener at a county Democratic Party annual banquet.
