ACES Board Midterm Meeting Report from Gigi Sutton, MBA, Executive Director

By Gigi Sutton, MBA, Executive Director

Dear ACES members,

I’m excited to share some highlights from our recent ACES board midterm meeting in my wonderful hometown city of Chicago. Our time together was not just about discussions; it was a genuine opportunity for us to connect, share ideas, and explore ways to make ACES an even better organization for our members.

One of the things I love most about our gatherings is hearing from our talented editors. The board’s diverse perspectives help ACES grow and thrive, and I truly value the insights the board brings to the table.

We focused on outlining clear roles and responsibilities for our board members, committee chairs, and committee members. With the growth in volunteering within ACES, it’s essential that everyone knows how they can contribute effectively and feel supported in their efforts.

Our meeting also included a thorough review of our current strategic goals. We’re committed to making meaningful progress, and we are looking forward to continuing that conversation this month as we consider additional goals that will guide ACES forward.

Of course, it wasn’t all work and no play! A highlight was definitely getting together for some bowling—watching everyone show off their skills made for a fun and memorable evening. These moments of connection outside of our formal meetings really help strengthen the board’s collaboration and camaraderie.

I feel incredibly proud to be the executive director of such an amazing organization. Collaborating with a dedicated board that shares a passion for our mission is truly rewarding. Together, we’re on an exciting journey, and I can’t wait to see what we achieve in the future!

Thank you all for your ongoing support!

Sincerely,

Gigi Sutton, MBA
ACES Executive Director
