Here’s what we offer.
Since 1997, more than 5,600 participants have taken advantage of the educational and networking opportunities offered by ACES at our three-day national conferences. Topics cover various components of editing — grammar, style, word usage, sentence structure, readability, editing techniques, ethics, working with writers and publishers, working with the web and social media, working with numbers, and more — as well as career and leadership advice and advice on teaching editing.
The 2019 national conference will be at Omni Providence in Providence, RI, March 28-30, 2019.
ACES has a new set of boot camps lined up for 2019 -- some full-day, some half-day, and some pairings of half-day boot camps that can be taken individually or both in the same day.
It begins with a full-day session on Feb. 28, with Fundamentals in Editing. ACES and RTDNA will host a joint boot camp in May..
Social Media 101 and Art & Science of Digital Editing are scheduled for June 6. In-depth editing will be a daylong boot camp Sept. 4 in conjunction with the Excellence in Journalism Conference. Another all day In-depth editing boot camp will be held on Oct. 14. Finally, Content Marketing for Editors, a full-day session will be offered on Oct. 21.
