The Southern Research Station is excited to share a job announcement for two GS-1083-11/12 technical writer-editor positions. These are permanent, full-time positions with the Station’s Technical Publications Team, serving as senior Technical Editors, responsible for developing, designing, editing, and overseeing the preparation and publishing of scientific publications.

Key duties include:
• Edit technical documents related to scientific research, incorporating the techniques, terminology, style requirements and modes of writing used in scientific research.
• Review technical documents submitted by subject matter experts to ensure conformance with style guide, correcting errors and inconsistencies.
• Provide technical advice to resolve matters of style and technique for scientific publications, incorporating expertise in publishing concepts, practice, policies, and standards, and current technology in publishing techniques.
