Recent Graduate: Writer-Editor – VA Office of Inspector General




VA-OIG's Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.Research, analyze, distill, and present information either in a variety of fields or, with a broad and non-specialized approach, in a single field.Provide input to OIG's managers and senior management on how to effectively manage writing and editing activities.Gather information for assignments by collaborating with teams. The writer-editor may also observe activities, processes, and/or demonstrations. The writer-editor analyzes, selects, and organizes the information to present.Participate in meetings and deliberations associated with OAE written products and provide advice, counsel, or instruction to OAE staff on written products.Prepare papers, articles, or reports, and prepare manuals for training in, or guidance on, the specifications for the development of audit reports.
