Position Summary

The Medical Review Editor can be relied upon for multiple functions within the Clinical Operations Department. The primary job functions entail reviewing clinical documentation and review criteria policies to prepare, summarize and organize information for physician review; proofing, editing, and formatting medical reviews; providing quality assurance on medical reviews by verifying adherence to operational processes and documentation/style guidelines; maintaining a balance of accuracy and speed; providing customer service support including responding to incoming calls and emails and assisting with resolution of customer concerns for MedReview and Federal External Appeals (FEA).

Education and/or Experience

Degree required, 4-year university degree in writing, editing, or healthcare related area is preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry, terminology and standards, preferably with at least two years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
Excellent writing and documentation skills, including high degree of accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting of professional documents.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and acronyms.
A strong customer service orientation and teamwork ethic are essential.
