The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, is seeking an early-career medical copyeditor with knowledge of "AMA Manual of Style." Reporting to the Manager of Education Design Services, this role will develop, copyedit, and revise scholarly medical content, including virtual and live courses and self-assessments, using AMA and AAP style guidelines.
Hybrid working arrangement of 40% on-site at our Chicago suburb headquarters in Itasca, IL.

1. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.
2. Two years’ related experience as a medical copyeditor required. Knowledge of AMA Manual of Style, publication development, and medical terminology required. Experience overseeing work of external copyeditors and working in an association preferred.
3. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, pay close attention to detail, take initiative, work both independently and as part of a team, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, project management, diplomacy, communication, writing/editing, and critical thinking skills required.
