Kevin Anderson & Associates is a NYC ghostwriting and editing firm that works with literary agencies, traditional and hybrid publishing houses, and independent authors. KAA seeks a highly organized and efficient Managing Editor who performs well in a fast-paced environment and is skilled at juggling numerous tasks with varying levels of importance. The ideal candidate is well-disciplined enough to work remotely, but willing to commute occasionally. This is a mid-level position with opportunities for advancement.

Correspond with others in a professional manner to answer questions, solve problems, and alleviate concerns.
Coordinate meetings between clients and staff.
Identify and resolve issues with clients and staff promptly.
Collaborate with staff to determine a project schedule.
Assign projects to staff via Shortlist.
Maintain records of all projects in appropriate systems.
Obtain funds from clients at appropriate points.
Other related duties as necessary.

High level of competency in Microsoft Word.
Outstanding communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented and a strong grasp of Chicago style.
Ability to prioritize, plan work activities, and manage time efficiently.
Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
Adapt easily to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and work comfortably with tight deadlines and frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
Able to take direction and solicit feedback to improve performance.

$40,000–$44,000. Benefits negotiable after trial period. The first two months will be a trial period as a 1099 freelancer. If all parties agree job performance is satisfactory, you would be hired on as a W-2 employee.
