Managing Editor / Editorial Project Manager - Pre K Educational Experience Preferred – Adecco Creative & Marketing

Description:

Adecco Creative is assisting our client, a well-known children’s educational publisher, in their search for a Managing Editor / Editorial Project Manager with Pre K educational publishing experience. This is a full-time freelance role, working 35-40 hours per week onsite in the client’s downtown offices, and expected to last on a long term / open ended basis.

The role is within the Early Childhood Division. Responsibilities will include:
• Organize and oversee the content development process of a complex Early Childhood program
• Track and provide status of varying content features at various stages of development
• Hire, manage, and coordinate with outside vendors to accomplish editorial task according to schedule
• Liaison between editorial vendors and editorial staff
• Troubleshoot editorial-related issue as necessary to keep the project on track
• Keep track of Editorial related contracts, invoices, and vendor spending
• Editorial Liaison with Production and other departments to coordinate and deliver content according to project schedules
• Assess and improve editorial processes for project for ultimate productivity
• Develop editorial specific schedules and guidelines as necessary to achieve project success
• Report editorial status at status meetings
• Track and organize metadata and metadata alignments between Editorial and other departments
• Keep open communication across all departments

Requirements:
• Editorial Project Management experience in Pre K-12 educational publishing
• 3-5 years of managerial experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing the needs of multiple concurrent project components under tight deadlines
• Ability to adjust direction quickly based on project requirements and business needs
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Mac OS, Adobe InDesign and/or InCopy, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and the Microsoft Office suite of apps including expertise with Excel.
• Proven ability to diplomatically implement workflow standards and achieve buy-in from all stakeholders
• Familiarity with WoodWing Enterprise or K4 publishing systems a plus
