We are looking for an experienced editor with a copy writing background who can quickly assess content and bring that extra shine to the writing when it is needed. You’ll need a keen eye and exceptional attention to detail to ensure clarity and accuracy.
The McLellan Writing Team is a powerful combination of in-house and freelance talent. We’re looking for freelance copy editors experienced in marketing and deep technology writing who are interested in forging a long-term relationship with a growing company. This is a remote/telecommute position.
As a freelance copy editor, you’ll be an essential part of our unique creative group, preparing original content for some of the largest technology companies in the world. We create enterprise-class content such as web copy, collateral, e-books, articles, white papers and thought leadership for major technology brands, defining the way they sound to their customers and partners, and differentiating them from their competitors.
This position will:
Validate marketing content across audiences and collateral types to ensure accuracy and meet each client’s specific needs.
Edit and proofread for technical and linguistic accuracy.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Drive to quality results with an eye on the deadlines.
5 years of proven marketing content editing experience for global technology enterprises.
Experience with multiple style, branding and marketing guidelines.
Possess a nuanced understanding of language conventions, style, and usage.
Interviewing clients for their story.
Managing editorial/writing teams and their workflow.
Familiarity with the finance and healthcare industries.
Bachelor’s degree. English, communication, journalism or similar major preferred. Coursework in technical writing, marketing, computer science or business a plus.
