The News Literacy Project (NLP) is looking for a full-time editor to assist us in our mission: ensuring that the next generation of news consumers has the skills and tools needed to separate fact from fiction and know what news and information to trust, share and act on. There is intense public interest in NLP’s work, and we are experiencing tremendous growth. This is a great opportunity for you to help build an influential education nonprofit and to have your work be widely seen and appreciated, both by a public eager for news literacy education and by students and educators across the United States and around the world.
As NLP’s editor, you will spend most of your time editing external-facing content to ensure that it is accurate, readable and grammatically correct. You will also help the team execute NLP’s communications strategy to raise awareness of our mission and impact, advance fundraising and constituent engagement, and amplify our message across multiple channels. You will join the communications team’s efforts to connect journalists, educators, donors, partners and other key constituencies to NLP and motivate and inspire them to support us and use our news literacy tools and resources. You will work with NLP’s education, creative services, administrative and development teams as well as communications colleagues to advance our work and support our strategic goals.
