The copy editor is responsible for copyediting and proofreading all Marketing & Communications materials (both for print and Web postings). Materials include (but are not limited to) magazine and newsletter articles and Web site content, news releases and a variety of promotional materials (brochures, flyers, advertisements, invitations, posters, video captions, etc.). When necessary, the copy editor will rewrite copy for tone, style, substance and consistency. The copy editor will verify permission to reprint copyrighted materials and prepare acknowledgments for use of such materials. The copy editor will write and maintain a Norton Healthcare style guide, using the Associated Press (AP) Style Book as the foundation. The copy editor will work closely with the senior creative services manager and with project managers to ensure that projects stay on schedule. The primary goal of this position is to bring consistency and 100 percent accuracy to all Norton Healthcare communications. Additionally, the copy editor will conduct research and/or write articles for Marketing & Communications publications and write promotional copy for marketing collateral.
