Copy editor – U.S. Institute of Peace

Open to remote work/Washington, D.C.

A team at a major think tank seeks a copy editor to edit foreign policy articles written by experts. The pieces may require some line editing to make accessible to a general audience as well as some fact checking. Typical word counts of articles range from 1,200 to 3,000 words. The number of hours per week could vary depending on the flow of news, but would not surpass 20 hours spread across Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Please do not apply unless you have experience editing articles on foreign policy or international affairs. Background knowledge of the Middle East and/or nuclear proliferation could be helpful but not necessary. Resumes as well as samples of edits (with track changes or the original and edited versions of pieces) are welcome.
