SK Editing & Design

Nonfiction books, academic articles, promotional materials, online educational assessments

As a multi-genre editor and designer, I have completed edits of more than 60 books published by small and large publishers. These clients include Cambridge University Press, Bloomsbury Academic, Jones & Bartlett/Ascend Learning, Palgrave Macmillan, Sage, and Guideposts. I have also edited more than 150 academic articles as well as online assessments, newsletters, and annual reports. In addition, I have worked with first-time, self-published, traditional, and collaborating authors, as well as university presses and nonprofit organizations.

As a page layout artist, I have created layouts for nonfiction books and hundreds of academic articles, including Plasma Medicine, Journal of Long-Term Effects of Medical Implants, Critical Reviews™ in Therapeutic Drug Carrier Systems, and Journal of Women and Minorities in Science and Engineering. I have also designed numerous newsletters, annual reports, and brochures.

I am known to be meticulous, creative, efficient, and professional. I earned a BA in Professional Writing with a minor in Communications, and I am certified in desktop publishing with extensive design experience. I am an expert in Chicago Manual of Style and APA style, experienced in editing both American and British English, and able to edit both Word and PDF files.
