Editor, writer, researcher with diverse and deep experience in local, regional, state and national print, online and broadcast news. Focused on working in journalism since a class trip to the hometown newspaper, where I joined the staff upon high school graduation and worked between semesters at a university.

During semesters, I wrote for the student newspaper and did newscasts for the student radio station, often scooping myself on radio after submitting my newspaper articles. After university graduation, I worked on-air in commercial radio at two stations and at publications in five states.

Through the years, I have enhanced my experience with training in changing technologies, teaching staff in new software, discussing journalism practices with university and college students as a guest speaker and teaching university students as a visiting lecturer with a master’s degree in public affairs.

Membership in the Society of Professional Journalists for decades and in the Society of Environmental Journalists and the Investigative Reporters & Editors has helped me learn about new techniques and practices and arising professional issues.
