As an experienced, eagle-eyed editor, I'm used to working in high-pressure agency environments specializing in marketing communications. I know the difference between a "stop the presses!" change that must be made and one that's merely nice to have. I understand and foster the relationship between writer and editor, and I can explain the different uses of hyphens, en dashes, and em dashes ... although it's not a very popular topic of conversation at cocktail parties.
