I'm passionate about correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and readability. Dangling modifiers and poor syntax make me itchy. My goal is to help clients produce flawless communications.

As a remote copy editor for three years, I copy-edited three online publications related to SEO, digital marketing and new technologies: Search Engine Land, Marketing Land and MarTech Today. I shuttled between breaking news stories and contributor columns on tight deadlines, sometimes at a hectic pace.

I offered writers improvement suggestions diplomatically and had good relationships with them. Communication with the editorial team was via the Slack app. I also managed the Desk-Net CMS, tracking articles through editing and publication.

As a remote proofreader, I worked on financial documents using AP Style and numerous client style guides to ensure copy met the client’s requirements.

Related skills: I am skilled at creating or editing copy that reflects the client’s style and voice.

I earned a B.A. in Communication Studies (Radio & TV Writing/Production) from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and completed the Copyblogger Content Writing course. I started my career working in advertising agencies, writing copy for print, radio, TV and websites.
