I have a PhD in Social Psychology (Penn State) and provide expert academic editing services in psychology and other social sciences. The documents I edit include journal articles, theses/dissertations, conference presentations, and grant applications. Services range from light copyediting (for spelling, grammar, usage, and consistency) to developmental/substantive editing (requires content knowledge of social science research and addresses strength of arguments, structure, and potential concerns of reviewers/committees).
As a published author and quantitative researcher, I am familiar with the peer-review process and understand best practices in social science research. I have edited empirical and theoretical journal articles and book chapters, provided consulting for graduate students working on their dissertations, and mentored students in designing award-winning conference presentations.
In addition, I edit materials for applications to graduate programs and academic/industry jobs. These include resumes, CVs, and essays (e.g., personal statements; teaching, research, and diversity statements). Because I have been involved in admissions decisions for graduate programs, hiring decisions for faculty/academic positions, and was a recruiter for positions in industry for years, I have first-hand insight into what the people making these decisions are looking for. Additionally, I’ve led workshops on resume and CV writing, getting into graduate school, and preparing conference posters/presentations.
