As an editor, my goal is to help you tell your story as effectively as possible.
I can help you find and get rid of all the weedy errors. I can help you discover what needs to be encouraged to grow. And I can help you chop out some deadwood, so your readers don’t have to scrabble through the unnecessary bits. I want your readers to walk straight in and fall in love.
I specialize in fantasy and science fiction, for YA, NA, and adult. Contemporary, historical, epic, steampunk, space travel, fairy tale, dystopian—I love it all. However, if your novel is in a different genre and you would like to work with me, please reach out and tell me about your project. I offer free sample edits to all prospective clients to make sure we will be a good fit. I work with the Chicago Manual of Style and Microsoft Word.
I have a BA in English from the University of Iowa and a certification in editing from UC Berkeley. I have trained in proofreading, copyediting, and developmental editing with the EFA and the Author-Editor Clinic. I'm an active member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
