I am a lover of words with a passion to help writers tell their stories more clearly, effectively and accurately. My editing career began in 2000 at a newspaper copy desk in West Texas. After a brief stint as a junior high English and journalism teacher a few years later, I moved to the college level. I have been the student media adviser at Baylor University for the past 12 years and have helped hundreds of students become professional communicators. I have a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and English from the University of North Texas and a Master of Arts in American Studies from Baylor. Specialties include religion; news and feature writing; essays; and fiction/nonfiction for adults, young adults and children. I am proficient in Associated Press Style. Previous clients include Christianity Today and Bleep Magazine.
