I am a freelance copy editor with over 20 years of experience in writing, editing, and communications. I think strategically about each project’s overall organization, messaging, and design while meticulously tending to its grammar, spelling, and punctuation. My goal is to make your writing as clear and compelling as possible while retaining your voice.
My clients include academic authors, graduate students, art museums, magazines, business executives, and non-profit organizations.
My recent projects have included book manuscripts, dissertations, application essays, short stories, websites, and marketing materials. Testimonials are available on my website (link below).
I earned my B.A. from Wellesley College, majoring in art history. I hold master’s degrees from UCLA (art history) and Hunter College, CUNY (secondary education, social studies). While earning these degrees, I also studied anthropology, sociology, psychology, Japanese, history, and documentary film.
When I am not copy editing, I enjoy tending my garden and houseplants, working at a local garden center, and sampling regional craft beers. I'm a native of Maine and go back whenever possible.
