Academic, Dissertation, Non-Fiction
I have been working with writers of scholarly publications, dissertations, and non-fiction books for ten years.
For writers of academic texts, I offer structural, line editing, and copyediting services. I also provide proofreading and citation and manuscript formatting services. One area of specialty is dissertation editing and formatting, including the formatting of citations for APA, Chicago, and MLA styles.
For authors of general non-fiction, I perform developmental, structural, line, and copyediting as well as proofreading.
I edit in a wide range of fields in the qualitative social sciences and humanities. This reflects my academic training (BA, political science and sociology, Williams College; MA, Japanese art and culture, Harvard University) as well as my intellectual curiosity and broad interests. My academic content specialization is in art history, anthropology, Japanese studies, and museum studies, and sociology. In non-fiction, my book editing experience is in art/photography, biography, memoir, self-help, and travel.
In addition to being an editor, I am a museum educator who uses art to help medical professionals develop observation skills, build stronger teams, improve communication, and reflect on their practice. I do this at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
