Join us for #GivingTuesday on Dec. 1

November 30, 2020 By ACES Staff ACES News

At ACES: The Society for Editing, we’re dedicated to improving the quality of editing, proofreading, and the working lives of editors.

We can't do this without you. That’s why we’re participating in Giving Tuesday on Dec. 1. This year, we are asking you to support the ACES Education Fund's scholarship program and Richard S. Holden Diversity Fellowship in your Giving Tuesday contribution.

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving back, giving you the opportunity to join thousands of others in supporting a cause close to your heart. We hope you’ll choose ACES. Giving Tuesday is a perfect time for you to join the scores of donors who have already given generously this year to the ACES Education Fund or to add to your previous gift.

Six scholarships are awarded annually through the ACES Education Fund. One is the Bill Walsh scholarship, in honor of the late editor, author, and ACES guiding spirit. The winner receives $3,500 plus financial aid to attend the ACES national conference.

Additionally, the ACES Aubespin scholarship winner receives $2,500 and four other winners receive $1,500 each — also with aid to attend the ACES conference.

Earlier this year in partnership with the Dow Jones News Fund, the Education Fund launched the Richard S. Holden Diversity Fellowship, a pilot program dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion by advancing early- and mid-career professionals in their work as editors and aspiring industry leaders. Our goal is to enable participants to obtain the training and support they need for a faster track to success.

By giving, you help ensure the future of our profession. Please consider the Education Fund as you step back from Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and help a cause you believe in.

Help us reach our Giving Tuesday goal of 100 donors and $5,000.

Donating:

Whether you choose to give a one-time gift or a monthly contribution, your donation will help advance early- and mid-career professionals in their work as editors.

A gift of $25, $50, $75, or any amount can help us get closer to reaching our goal.

Thank you for supporting the ACES Education Fund. We appreciate your generosity.
