At ACES: The Society for Editing, we’re dedicated to improving the quality of editing, proofreading, and the working lives of editors.
We can't do this without you. That’s why we’re participating in Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving back, giving you the opportunity to join thousands of others in supporting a cause close to your heart. We hope you’ll choose ACES. Giving Tuesday is a perfect time for you to join the scores of donors who have already given generously this year to the ACES Education Fund or to add to your previous gift.
By giving, you help ensure the future of our profession. The Education Fund awards scholarships to college students who plan to pursue editing as a career. ACES will honor six aspiring editors for the 2019-20 academic year, bringing the total to 111 scholarships awarded since 1999.
The Walsh scholarship honors Bill Walsh, author, blogger and longtime copy editor at the Washington Post. Walsh, who died in early 2017, was an active and creative member of the ACES Education Fund board.
The Aubespin scholarship honors Merv Aubespin, a former president of the National Association of Black Journalists who, as the chairman of the Human Resources Committee of the American Society of News Editors in the mid-1990s, greatly helped inspire the creation of ACES.
Please consider the Education Fund as you step back from Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and help a cause you believe in.
Help us reach our Giving Tuesday goal of 50 donors and $2,500.
Help us mentor students seeking a career in editing by donating to the ACES Education Fund. Your gift helps pave the way for the next generation of editors.
A gift of $25, $50, $75, or any amount can help us get closer to reaching our goal.
Thank you for supporting the ACES Education Fund. We appreciate your generosity.
