Welcoming ACES’ first-ever operations manager

July 2, 2018 By ACES Staff ACES News

ACES: The Society for Editing has hired its first operations manager, Abbi Booth.

In this new position, Abbi will oversee ACES’ daily operations. She will also help plan and manage the annual conference, and she will assist with member communications and work with vendors who provide ACES’ member benefits.

If Abbi’s friendly face looks familiar, you may have seen her at a recent conference: She oversaw the past two ACES conferences in her former role at the Society for Professional Journalists. She may have helped you at the registration desk when you arrived!

“As ACES kept growing, it became more apparent that we needed a professional to stay on top of our day-to-day business,” said Sara Ziegler, board president.

“ACES board members were so impressed with Abbi’s expertise in our years of working with her that we were thrilled to bring her on board as a full-time staff member.”

Abbi is a Ball State University graduate. She lives in Indiana with her husband, cat, an extremely hyperactive Weimaraner and a white German shepherd. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, camping, hiking and cheering on the Chicago Bears.
